Los Angeles, CA (FEB 18th, 2025)- A 25-year-old motorcyclist fatally injured in a tragic crash in the City of Industry has been identified as Manuel Leyva Mier, authorities confirmed Monday. The devastating accident occurred when a car abruptly changed lanes in front of his motorcycle, causing him to lose control and crash into a wooden telephone pole.

Details of the Fatal Collision

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received reports of the crash at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Temple and Ruthcrest Avenues. According to investigators, Mier, a La Palma resident, was riding a black 2016 Yamaha R6 motorcycle westbound on Temple Avenue when a silver Kia Soul, traveling in the same direction, suddenly switched lanes in front of him.

Unable to react quickly, Mier lost control of his motorcycle, veering to the right before colliding with a wooden telephone pole. The impact ejected him from his bike, resulting in severe blunt-force trauma injuries. First responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived at the scene, but Mier was pronounced dead shortly after.
