Riverside County, CA ( Aug 12th, 2025)- Cyclist Dies Two Days After Hemet Intersection Crash after sustaining severe injuries in a collision with a vehicle at a busy Hemet intersection. According to the Hemet Police Department, the tragic incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday at the crossing of Lincoln Avenue and Soboba Street. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to a regional trauma center, where he spent two days in intensive care before passing away on Sunday.

Police reports indicate that the bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Lincoln Avenue when a motorist heading northbound on Soboba Street struck him. Authorities confirmed that the driver, whose name has also not been disclosed, immediately stopped at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

Initial assessments by Hemet Fire Department paramedics classified the cyclist’s injuries as moderate. However, doctors later discovered significant internal damage, leading to a rapid decline in his condition. Despite medical efforts, he did not survive.

Investigators ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor after testing the driver. The Hemet Police Department continues to investigate the exact circumstances that led to the crash. Officials are urging anyone with information to contact their Traffic Bureau at 951-765-2400.

In tragic cases like this, the surviving family of the victim may be entitled to pursue wrongful death compensation. Such compensation can cover medical expenses incurred before death, funeral and burial costs, loss of income that the deceased would have provided, and emotional damages for the pain and suffering endured by the family. In some cases, additional compensation may be sought for loss of companionship, especially when the deceased was a spouse or parent. While no amount of money can truly replace a loved one, securing rightful compensation can help families manage the financial burdens that often follow such sudden and devastating losses.
