According to the Hemet Police Department, the tragic incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday at the crossing of Lincoln Avenue and Soboba Street. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to a regional trauma center, where he spent two days in intensive care before passing away on Sunday.

Police reports indicate that the bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Lincoln Avenue when a motorist heading northbound on Soboba Street struck him. Authorities confirmed that the driver, whose name has also not been disclosed, immediately stopped at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
