Los Angeles, CA (Jul 16th, 2025)- A deadly collision claims life of pedestrian on 110 Freeway early Tuesday morning, causing major traffic delays and leaving a community in mourning. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the tragic incident occurred around 4:50 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the Harbor (110) Freeway near the Exposition Boulevard exit in downtown Los Angeles.
CHP Officer Ramon Kendricks reported that a man had attempted to run across the freeway when he was fatally struck by at least one vehicle. First responders arrived quickly, but despite their efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The force of the impact scattered debris across multiple lanes, further complicating the early morning commute.
Officers on scene questioned three drivers whose vehicles may have been involved in the crash. As investigations continued, the northbound side of the freeway was temporarily shut down at the Exposition exit. A SigAlert was issued, signaling a significant traffic disruption. However, two lanes were reopened shortly afterward, and the entire freeway was cleared and reopened by approximately 7:30 a.m.
The identity of the pedestrian has not been released, pending notification to the next of kin. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident and whether speed, distraction, or other factors contributed to the deadly accident.
