Los Angeles, CA (Dec 22nd, 2025)-Deadly Collision Reported on Golden State Freeway in Arleta after a crash involving a big rig and a passenger sedan claimed the life of a young man early Sunday morning, according to California authorities.
The collision occurred around 3:43 a.m. on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway just south of the Osborne Street off-ramp, near the interchange with the Hollywood (170) Freeway. Officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene following reports of a serious crash that had left multiple vehicles disabled across the roadway.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered a man who had suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the victim as 25-year-old Donovan Chapman. Officials did not immediately release details about which vehicle he had been traveling in at the time of the crash, and his city of residence was not disclosed.
