Deadly Van Nuys Collision Leaves 22-Year-Old Dead early Wednesday morning after a car reportedly ran a red light and T-boned another vehicle at a busy intersection. The crash also left three men injured and sparked conversations about roadway safety and accountability in the Los Angeles area.

Details of the Crash

According to the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations, the collision occurred around 1:45 a.m. at the intersection of Van Nuys and Burbank boulevards, near a Ralphs grocery store parking lot. Investigators said a Honda Civic traveling east on Burbank Boulevard ran a red light and struck the driver’s side of a Mercedes-Benz C300 heading north on Van Nuys Boulevard.

The impact was severe. The driver of the Mercedes, a 22-year-old woman, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Family members later confirmed she had been on her way home from work when the collision occurred.

Injuries Reported

Authorities reported that a man in his 40s, who had been inside the Honda, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Two other men also sustained injuries in the crash, though their conditions were not immediately disclosed.
