Officers were dispatched around 9 p.m. to the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Heil Avenue, where they found a gray BMW 330i and the pedestrian unconscious in the roadway, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department. Paramedics pronounced the victim, a 31-year-old Huntington Beach resident, dead at the scene.
The driver of the BMW, a 23-year-old man from Reseda, was uninjured and fully cooperative with police. A police statement noted that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the driver’s condition, while it remains unknown whether impairment contributed to the pedestrian’s condition.
