Riverside County, CA (Aug 6th, 2025)- Fatal Collision in Perris Claims Two Lives after a devastating three-vehicle crash occurred just east of the city late Sunday night, authorities confirmed. The incident unfolded around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Bernasconi Road and Ramona Expressway in the Lakeview community, an area not far from Perris in Riverside County.
According to Officer Javier Navarro of the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a 2013 Nissan Altima was heading eastbound on Ramona Expressway when the driver suddenly veered left for unknown reasons.
The vehicle crossed over the raised concrete median, entering the westbound lanes and into the path of an oncoming 2020 Toyota RAV4. The impact was severe and caused the Nissan to spin uncontrollably, ultimately crashing into a 2015 Kia Optima that had been trailing the Toyota closely.
Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived swiftly and tragically pronounced both the driver and the front-seat passenger of the Nissan dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. The drivers and passengers in the Toyota and Kia sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for medical care.
Following the crash, both directions of the Ramona Expressway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and a preliminary investigation by the CHP. The closure lasted several hours and was lifted around 3 a.m. Monday morning.
