Los Angeles, CA ( SEP 29th, 2025)- A fatal multi-vehicle crash in Boyle Heights leaves one dead and three others hospitalized after a violent collision on Sunday afternoon. The tragic incident occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. near 100 N. Chicago Street and First Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
Details of the Accident
Authorities confirmed that all of the victims were inside a pickup truck traveling westbound on First Street when the driver lost control and struck a parked vehicle. The impact proved deadly for a male passenger in his 20s, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
Three women riding in the back of the truck were ejected upon impact. Paramedics transported all three to a nearby trauma center—one in critical condition and two others with serious injuries. Firefighters had to employ hydraulic rescue tools to extricate one of the victims trapped in the wreckage.
The 25-year-old driver of the pickup allegedly fled the scene on foot following the crash. Los Angeles Police Department officers later located and detained him. Investigators are still working to determine whether drugs, alcohol, or reckless driving played a role in this devastating collision.
