Los Angeles, CA (Jan 19th, 2026)- Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Leaves Several Others Injured after a devastating collision early Sunday morning on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Los Feliz, according to authorities. A 25-year-old man was killed, and five other individuals were injured in the multi-vehicle crash that occurred around 3:20 a.m. on the northbound lanes near Los Feliz Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol confirmed.
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the 25-year-old man was ejected from a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics also transported a 28-year-old man with serious injuries to a nearby hospital. Additional victims—a 61-year-old man, a 35-year-old man, and two 22-year-old men—were taken for treatment and were listed in fair condition, according to Lyndsey Lantz of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Following the crash, a SigAlert was issued at approximately 3:39 a.m., shutting down all northbound lanes of the freeway for several hours as emergency crews responded and investigators worked the scene. The closure was lifted at about 9:54 a.m., CHP officials said. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the cause of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
