A fatal pedestrian accident reported near Santa Ana intersection has left a family grieving after a woman lost her life when she was struck by a vehicle late Sunday night. According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:55 p.m. near the busy crossing of Edinger Avenue and Grand Avenue.
Preliminary reports show the woman was walking westbound on Edinger Avenue when she was hit by a northbound vehicle. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived quickly and rushed her to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite emergency efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have not released her identity, pending notification of her family.
The driver involved in the accident remained at the scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement. At this time, investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
