Los Angeles, CA (Feb 23rd, 2026)- Four Killed in Long Beach Morning Crash after a single-vehicle collision left the car engulfed in flames early Saturday morning. Authorities confirmed that the fatal accident occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m. in the area of East Spring Street and Lakewood Boulevard, near Long Beach Airport.
The devastating crash claimed the lives of two men and two women, with emergency responders unable to save any of the victims.
Crash Details
According to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), the vehicle involved—a 2008 Honda Accord—was traveling southbound on Lakewood Boulevard from Spring Street when it hit the center median curb.
The vehicle then lost control, striking the underpass center support wall, and caught fire. Firefighters discovered one female occupant outside the vehicle who was pronounced dead at the scene. Three additional victims were found inside the burned vehicle. The ages of the victims have not been released.
Preliminary investigations are focusing on speed and impairment as possible contributing factors. The accident occurred at the underpass where Lakewood Boulevard passes beneath a portion of the Long Beach Airport runway.
The LBPD stated that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate the crash to determine if there are broader safety concerns, with a preliminary report expected within 30 days.
