Los Angeles, CA (SEP 18th, 2025)- Long Beach Collision Claims One Life and Injures Two in a devastating two-vehicle crash that left a community shaken and families in distress. The tragic accident unfolded late Wednesday morning when a cargo truck and a sedan collided along Seventh Street, west of Silvera Avenue, in Long Beach.

The Incident

According to Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Brian Fisk, emergency crews rushed to the scene around 11:45 a.m. The violent crash overturned the cargo truck, trapping its occupants inside. Firefighters and paramedics worked tirelessly to free the victims from the mangled wreckage. Despite their rapid response, one person was pronounced dead at the scene, highlighting the sheer force and severity of the impact.

Two passengers in the cargo truck were critically injured and required the use of hydraulic rescue tools, commonly known as the Jaws of Life, for extrication. They were quickly transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The driver of the sedan was also taken to the hospital but is expected to recover, as their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Ongoing Investigation

Long Beach police immediately secured the area, shutting down Seventh Street between Pepper Tree Lane and Campus Drive as they conducted a full investigation into the cause of the collision. Authorities have not yet determined whether speeding, distraction, mechanical failure, or other contributing factors played a role. The investigation remains ongoing, and the findings will be crucial in determining liability.
