Los Angeles, CA [April 19th, 2025]- Motorcyclist critically hurt in Long Beach after a serious crash involving a vehicle on Friday morning, authorities reported. The collision, which happened around 7:10 a.m., took place in the southbound lanes of Cherry Avenue near 65th Street, according to Sgt. Bradford Stein of the Long Beach Police Department.
Initial investigations revealed that both the motorcycle and the other vehicle were traveling in the same direction—southbound—when the collision occurred. Responding officers found the motorcyclist with significant upper body injuries at the scene. The Long Beach Fire Department quickly arrived, and paramedics transported the rider by ambulance to a nearby hospital. The motorcyclist was listed in critical condition upon arrival.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement. As of now, the identity and age of the injured rider have not been released pending notification of family and further investigation.
Motorcycle accidents like this one often result in life-altering injuries due to the limited protection motorcycles offer riders. Injuries can include traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, broken bones, and internal bleeding—all of which can require months or even years of rehabilitation and care.
