Los Angeles, CA (JAN 16th, 2025)- A tragic accident in Torrance has claimed the life of a motorcyclist, leaving the community in mourning. A 33-year-old Harbor City man lost his life in a collision involving a motorcycle and a car, according to a statement released by the Torrance Police Department on Wednesday.
The accident occurred on Tuesday at Crenshaw Boulevard and 236th Street intersection around 6:04 p.m.. Torrance Police reported that a 2019 Jaguar traveling southbound on Crenshaw Boulevard made a left turn onto 236th Street, colliding with a 1992 Honda motorcycle heading northbound on Crenshaw Boulevard.
Emergency responders from the Torrance Fire Department arrived at the scene to assist the motorcyclist but, tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner is withholding the victim’s identity pending notification of his family.
The Jaguar driver, a 78-year-old Torrance resident, was not injured in the collision. Authorities closed both the northbound and southbound lanes of Crenshaw Boulevard between 235th and 237th streets for over four hours to conduct a thorough investigation. As of Wednesday evening, the case remains under investigation, and police are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Torrance Police Department Traffic Division at 310-618-5557.
