Orange County, CA (APRIL 21st, 2025)- One Killed, Four Hurt in Buena Park Freeway Crash that occurred Saturday evening on the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway has left the local community shaken. The violent collision took place just north of Magnolia Avenue and prompted a significant emergency response. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash was first reported at approximately 7:11 p.m.

Witnesses at the scene told investigators that a white SUV had been driving erratically before slamming into a dark-colored SUV. The impact caused both vehicles to overturn, with the white SUV launching over the guardrail. One person tragically lost their life at the scene, while four others sustained serious injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment, as confirmed by Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Sean Doran.

In the immediate aftermath, Caltrans responded by shutting down all northbound lanes of the Santa Ana Freeway, except for the HOV lane. Traffic was rerouted onto the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway and the Magnolia Avenue off-ramp as crews worked to clear the wreckage and conduct investigations.
