Los Angeles, CA [Jan 20th, 2025] One Killed in a serious crash in Woodland Hills after a vehicle slammed into a tree early Tuesday morning, leaving one man dead and another hospitalized in what police believe was a DUI-related collision.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to reports of a serious crash at approximately 1:25 a.m. in the 5900 block of North Valley Circle Boulevard near Canon Avenue in Woodland Hills. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a heavily damaged vehicle that had veered off the roadway and crashed directly into a tree. Both occupants were found trapped inside the wreckage.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to assist with rescue efforts. Firefighters worked to extricate the victims from the mangled vehicle while paramedics prepared to provide emergency medical care. Despite lifesaving efforts, a male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.
An LAPD spokesperson told City News Service that investigators believe alcohol impairment played a role in the crash. Witness accounts and preliminary findings indicate the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed moments before losing control. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, including whether additional factors such as road conditions or vehicle malfunction contributed to the fatal outcome.
