Pedestrian Killed on 101 Near Hollywood Bowl [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (May 14, 2025)- A Pedestrian was killed on 101 Near Hollywood Bowl when a late-model BMW and another sedan came to rest against freeway lanes after striking a person who wandered into traffic just before dawn. According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded at 1:18 a.m. Tuesday to reports of a crash on the southbound Hollywood (101) Freeway, just north of the Cahuenga Boulevard off-ramp.

Upon arrival, CHP personnel discovered a dark-colored BMW blocking the rightmost lane and a white sedan in the center lanes, its airbags deployed and windshield cracked. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Witness accounts and debris patterns indicate the victim was struck, then carried by momentum into the northbound lanes, creating a hazardous situation that prompted officials to close three southbound lanes for more than three hours under a SigAlert while they reconstructed the incident.
