Los Angeles, CA (June, 13th 2025)- Teen Killed in Crash While Waiting for Bus: Police in Long Beach responded just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday after receiving reports of a devastating collision at the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and Carson Street. A 15-year-old boy, seated at the bus stop on the northwest sidewalk, was caught in the path of an out-of-control vehicle and later succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
According to the Long Beach Police Department’s preliminary investigation, a black 2010 Infiniti G37 failed to stop at a red light on Carson Street. It collided with a 2010 Toyota Prius, which was proceeding southbound on Palo Verde Avenue under a green signal. The impact sent the Infiniti skidding across the intersection, overturning it, and ultimately propelling it onto the sidewalk where the young pedestrian was waiting for his bus.
First responders from the Long Beach Fire Department rendered urgent medical aid before rushing the teenager to a trauma center, but tragically, he did not survive. The victim’s identity has been withheld due to his age. The Prius driver, a 32-year-old resident of Lakewood, remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators. The Infiniti driver, also treated at a local hospital, is in stable condition. Witnesses reported that speed appeared to be a factor; however, formal citations and potential charges are pending the outcome of the collision investigation.
For families facing such unexpected loss, pursuing justice and financial recovery becomes a critical step toward rebuilding. In California, wrongful death and personal injury claims can secure compensation for medical expenses, funeral and burial costs, loss of future earnings, and non-economic damages such as loss of companionship and emotional distress. We understand that no amount of money can truly replace a child, but securing these damages can alleviate the overwhelming financial burdens and provide a measure of accountability for those responsible for negligence.
