Los Angeles, CA (Dec, 30th, 2025)- Three Injured After Metro Light Rail and Car Crash in Downtown LA when a Metro A (Blue) Line train collided with a vehicle at a busy intersection on Monday morning, disrupting commutes and sending several people to the hospital. The incident occurred at approximately 8:25 a.m. near the intersection of Olive Street and Washington Boulevard, according to officials with Los Angeles Metro.
Authorities said the light-rail train was traveling through downtown Los Angeles during peak morning hours when it struck a passenger vehicle, and the circumstances remain under investigation. As emergency crews rushed to the scene, Metro confirmed that around 170 passengers were safely evacuated from the train. Fortunately, no one on board the train was reported to have sustained serious injuries during the evacuation.
The Los Angeles Fire Department later confirmed that three individuals sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics evaluated the injured victims at the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment. Their current conditions have not been publicly disclosed, but officials indicated the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
In a statement released following the crash, Metro expressed concern for those affected. “Metro extends its best wishes for a swift recovery to the injured passengers,” the agency said. The collision also caused significant service disruptions along the A Line, resulting in bus detours and delays as crews worked to clear the scene and restore normal rail operations. Commuters in the area experienced longer travel times as the investigation and cleanup continued through the morning hours.
Compensation at Stake for Victims
Even when injuries are described as “minor,” victims involved in train and vehicle collisions may face unexpected medical expenses, lost wages, and ongoing physical discomfort. Compensation at stake in these cases may include coverage for emergency medical care, hospital bills, rehabilitation costs, and follow-up treatment.
Injured victims may also be entitled to recover lost income if their injuries prevent them from returning to work, as well as compensation for pain, suffering, and emotional distress caused by the incident. In some cases, property damage to vehicles and personal belongings may also be recoverable, depending on liability.
