Two people were killed and four others were injured Saturday night when a black Lexus and a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck crashed at an intersection in Palmdale. The collision occurred at approximately 11 p.m. on May 30, 2026, at the intersection of Avenue N and 10th Street West. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, and four passengers were transported to area hospitals — including one by helicopter. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale station is investigating.

What Happened

According to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a black Lexus LS400 was traveling southbound on 10th Street West at an unknown rate of speed when it entered the intersection at Avenue N. A white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck was simultaneously traveling eastbound on Avenue N. The two vehicles collided within the intersection. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash — including whether a traffic signal, stop sign, or right-of-way violation contributed — remains under active investigation by the LASD Palmdale station.

Emergency Response and Investigation

LASD deputies and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the intersection of Avenue N and 10th Street West following the crash. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics transported three additional victims to hospitals via ground ambulance, and one was transported by helicopter due to the severity of their injuries. The LASD is investigating and is asking anyone with information to call the Palmdale station at 661-272-2400. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or at lacrimestoppers.org.

Injuries and Community Impact

Both drivers — one in the Lexus LS400 and one in the Chevrolet Colorado — were killed at the scene. Four passengers or additional occupants were injured, including one whose condition was serious enough to require helicopter transport to a trauma center. The crash occurred at night at a Palmdale intersection in the Antelope Valley, where wide arterial roadways and high travel speeds can increase the severity of intersection collisions.

Understanding Legal Rights After a Fatal Intersection Collision

When two vehicles collide at an intersection and both drivers are killed, the families of the victims still have the right to pursue wrongful death claims — against the other driver’s estate, if evidence establishes fault. California law does not require a surviving driver to bring a claim; families of deceased victims can file civil actions on their behalf. In addition, the four injured occupants — passengers in either vehicle or bystanders — may have strong personal injury claims regardless of which driver caused the crash. An experienced car accident attorney can review the LASD crash investigation, obtain witness statements, analyze physical evidence from the intersection, and determine all viable civil claims on behalf of every victim affected by this collision.
