Los Angeles, CA (Jan 1st, 2025)- Victim Identified in Fatal West Hills Collision after authorities confirmed the identity of an 80-year-old man who lost his life in a solo-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in the West Hills area of Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 8:23 p.m. to the 24440 block of Bell Canyon Road, near Valley Circle Boulevard, following reports of a serious traffic incident. When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered a single vehicle that had veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found unresponsive.
Despite the efforts of emergency personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner officially identified the victim as Rick Neff. No additional details were immediately released regarding what may have caused the crash, and investigators continue to review the circumstances leading up to the fatal collision.
