Los Angeles, CA (FEB 24th, 2025)- A woman was struck and killed by a speeding Dodge Charger involved in an illegal street race in South Los Angeles, authorities reported on Sunday. The tragic hit-and-run occurred as the vehicle recklessly sped through a residential area, leaving the victim fatally injured and fleeing the scene without stopping.

The deadly collision took place around 10 p.m. on Saturday near the intersection of 66th Street and Normandie Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). Witnesses described a gray Dodge Charger engaging in a high-speed race against a dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe as both vehicles traveled southbound on Normandie Avenue.

The victim, who was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk, was struck by the Dodge Charger. Instead of stopping to assist, both drivers sped away, leaving the injured woman behind. Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported her to a nearby hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries.
