Palm Desert, CA (May 10, 2024)- The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision in Palm Desert that resulted in an 80-Year-Old Man Killed. The incident occurred in a private country club community and involved a vehicle and a golf cart.
The tragic incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Bonanza Drive and Mojave Sage Street. The deceased man has been identified as 80-year-old Sam Karagavoorian of Palm Desert.
When officers first arrived on the scene, the crash was reported as a major injury incident. However, it was later confirmed to be a fatal accident. By the time officers reached the location, Karagavoorian had already been taken to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 3:13 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Early indications from the investigation suggest that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the accident.
