Tragic Accident in Fresno County Claims the Life of One, Injures Three

A tragic accident in Fresno County killed one and injured three other people on Friday, December 3.  According to the California Highway Patrol, the fog was a contributing factor to the crash. The tragic incident occurred at highway 145 at 7:30 am between Jensen and North Avenues.

It has been speculated by officers that a big rig was pulling onto highway 45 out of a driveway. A minivan that was heading south on the highway, unfortunately, was unable to stop and ended up crashing into the side of the truck.

The driver unfortunately was unable to make it and succumbed to his injuries. The three passengers were rushed to the regional medical center in Fresno. It has been said by the CHP that their injuries are ranging from moderate to severe. Investigators said that visibility was ranging between 50 feet to 100 feet. It has also been said that low visibility may have caused the accident in Fresno County. The car has been estimated to be travelling at a very high speed as well.

CHP officer Mike Salas has urged drivers to use low beam lights as well as slow down during foggy conditions. The crash is still under investigation.
