Palm Springs, CA (May 19, 2024) – Vehicle crashes into Palm Springs businesses: In Palm Springs, a harrowing incident unfolded as a 30-year-old man was taken into custody after his SUV rampaged through street barricades, two businesses, and another vehicle before he fled the scene.

The vehicle’s reckless path didn’t stop there; it careened along a walkway nestled between businesses, shattering the rear window of one establishment before the driver attempted a disastrous maneuver.

In trying to turn the vehicle around, he inflicted significant damage on the interior of another business. The destruction continued as the driver collided with a parked car on Palm Canyon Drive, shoving it out of the way before making his escape.

Authorities swiftly apprehended the alleged driver, Jose Uzaga, shortly before 11 p.m., bringing an end to his destructive spree. Uzaga now faces charges of hit-and-run, vandalism, and DUI, with his bail set at $10,000 and a pending court appearance at the Larson Justice Center in Indio on Wednesday.
