Los Angeles, CA (May 21, 2024)- Fatal pedestrian accident near Gardena results in the death of an individual struck by a vehicle in the early hours of Tuesday in an unincorporated area of South Los Angeles.
Responding to reports of a pedestrian in the roadway, California Highway Patrol officers arrived at the intersection of South Broadway and West Rosecrans Avenue, east of the Harbor (110) Freeway, at 4:16 a.m., according to CHP Officer Erik Larsen.
The identity of the pedestrian, including their name, age, and gender, remained unknown as they were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was summoned to aid in the investigation of the collision. Consequently, Rosecrans Avenue was closed in both directions to facilitate the ongoing inquiry into the tragic incident.
