Los Angeles, CA (June 4, 2024) – High-Speed Chase in Hollywood: A perilous incident unfolded on Friday when the subject of a police chase, identified as Cornell Harvey, aged 35, collided his vehicle with two others in Hollywood, causing injuries to himself and at least one other individual.

The chain of events began around 9:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of Franklin Avenue following a report of a shooting.

Responding officers from the Los Angeles Police Department noticed Harvey, who matched the description of the suspect. The pursuit started on foot but escalated quickly as Harvey commandeered a parked vehicle and fled the scene at high speed.

Navigating through the bustling streets of Hollywood, Harvey initially drove west on Hollywood Boulevard from Wilton Place.

However, he soon reversed his direction, speeding east on Sunset Boulevard. The high-speed chase came to a crashing halt at the intersection of Sunset and Vine Avenue, where Harvey’s vehicle struck two others.

Despite the chaos, Harvey attempted to flee by foot but was shortly apprehended by the police after a brief pursuit. Officers found a live round in his possession at the time of arrest.

The aftermath of this reckless driving incident left one driver hospitalized while another, though only complaining of pain, did not seek immediate medical attention.

Harvey himself sustained a minor head abrasion and was treated at a local hospital before being released into police custody. Charged with assault with a deadly weapon, Harvey was released on a $30,000 bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on June 26.
