P alm Desert, CA (May 25, 2024). In a tragic incident, two men killed in a fatal single-vehicle Palm Desert crash have been identified. The crash occurred around 6 a.m. on Friday near the intersection of Painters Path and Fred Waring Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The Palm Desert Traffic Team reported that the vehicle was traveling westbound on Fred Waring Drive at high speed when it collided with a brick wall. The Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene, where they extricated the two individuals from the wrecked vehicle.
The driver, Aden Frankie Hernandez, 20, of Thermal, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Carlos Juarez, 21, of Indio, was transported to Eisenhower Medical Center but later succumbed to his injuries. The sheriff’s department indicated that evidence at the scene suggested drugs or alcohol were likely contributing factors to the crash.
Following the incident, Fred Waring Drive and Painters Path were temporarily closed to facilitate the crash investigation but were reopened later in the day. This tragic event has left the community mourning the loss of two young lives and underscores the dangers of high-speed driving, particularly under the influence of substances.
