Passion For Compassion Scholarship from the Crockett Law Group

Scholarship Program

The Crockett Law Group established this bi-annual scholarship for College of the Desert students who have demonstrated an interest in helping others. An individual is eligible to apply for a $1,000 scholarship for education-related expenses if he or she meets the criteria below.

By submitting your application for this scholarship, you agree to use any potential scholarship award for educational purposes only, such as tuition or related expenses such as school supplies, books, course materials, school living expenses, etc. If you win the scholarship or are a finalist, we may share your essay and photo on our website and may use them for marketing purposes.

  • You must be currently enrolled as a student at the College of the Desert. Upon request, you will be required to submit an enrollment verification letter, student ID, or course registration for the coming semester.
  • You have maintained a 2.0 or higher GPA. We may require an official or unofficial transcript from your most recent educational institution.
  • You are a U.S. Citizen or hold Permanent Residency status. DACA recipients are welcome to apply. Upon request, we will require a copy of your U.S. driver’s license, U.S. state ID card, DACA ID, and/or passport.
  • You must complete all entry fields on the application for the scholarship. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Entries that do not meet the word count requirement will not be considered.

Short Essay: 500-1000 Words

The Crockett Law Group is sympathetic to the vulnerability of injured individuals and that is why we are intensely committed to fighting on their behalf against big insurance companies. We are looking for College of the Desert students who share our passion for compassion. Submit an essay of 500-1,000 words telling us about a time you offered a helping hand to others who faced an obstacle and how you provided hope. Why did you do it? What did you learn from that experience and how did it shape who you are as a person today?
