Orange County, CA (Jul 19, 2024)- A pedestrian hit by car in Garden Grove on Wednesday night tragically lost his life, and police are diligently investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:16 p.m. in the 14300 block of Brookhurst Street.
Garden Grove Police Department officers swiftly responded to the scene, where they discovered a gray 2022 Toyota Sienna and a pedestrian involved in the collision. Sgt. Nick Jensen reported that upon arrival, officers found the victim lying in the roadway while the vehicle was parked nearby.
The driver, a 58-year-old woman from Santa Ana, stayed at the scene and cooperated fully with the police investigation.
Emergency responders from the Orange County Fire Authority arrived shortly after and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Initial reports indicate that alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the accident.
