Fullerton , CA (April 4, 2024): (newsantaana.com) – In the early hours of Thursday, April 4, 2024, Fullerton Police Officers rushed to the intersection of S. State College Blvd. and E. Walnut Ave. in response to a distressing scene.

A car accident had occurred between a black Honda Civic and a tractor-trailer, prompting a swift emergency response.

Upon reaching the site, officers found the black Honda Civic wedged beneath the rear of the tractor-trailer, with its lone occupant, a female driver, still trapped inside.

The Fullerton Fire Department promptly intervened, extricating the driver and commencing life-saving procedures before transporting her to a nearby trauma center.

Regrettably, the condition of the female driver remains critical, intensifying concerns surrounding the car accident.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the tractor-trailer, traveling northbound on S. State College Blvd., was executing a left turn onto Walnut Ave. when the car accident occurred.

The Honda Civic collided with the side of the tractor-trailer during this maneuver, leading to a devastating outcome.

The 52-year-old driver of the semi-truck, who stayed on-site, is actively cooperating with investigators, underscoring the collaborative efforts to determine the sequence of events leading to the car accident.

Crucially, authorities have yet to ascertain whether substances such as drugs or alcohol contributed to the car accident, leaving key questions unanswered as the investigation unfolds.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability inherent in road travel and underscores the importance of diligent adherence to safety protocols.

As the community awaits updates on the victim’s condition and the investigation’s findings, concerns for road safety resonate more profoundly than ever.
